Upward Soccer 2009:

1. Registration:
   Registration is online at www.Upwardhanover.org , click on SOCCER, from Dec 1 thru Feb 7 ($15 late fee after Feb 1).
    
2. Fees and uniforms:
   The $80.00 registration fee includes the uniform of a shirt, shorts and socks. Shin guards are required for all players and cleats are required for 1st grade and above. Players are expected to bring a ball and water to all practices.
   (Financial assistance is available for those in need. Send written request to: Upward Soccer, % Cool Spring Baptist Church, 9283 Atlee Station Rd., Mech., VA 23116).
    
3. Field locations and practices:
   All games and practices are played at New Hanover Church, 10085 Chamberlayne Rd. (Rt. 301), Mechanicsville.
   There is one 60 minute practice each week on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday at 6PM. All games are on Saturday between 8A-1P.
    
4. Game schedule:
   There are 8 games from April 4 - June 6. See season schedule above. A complete schedule will be produced @ April 1st after the teams are made.
    
5. Evaluations and team formations:
   Evaluations for all players are on Feb 7. The results are tabulated and teams are equitably made by talent level.
    
6. Age groupings:
   Pre-kindergarten (age 4), Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade girls, 1st & 2nd boys, 3rd & 4th girls, 3 & 4th boys, 5th & 6th girls, 5th & 6th boys.
    
7. Inclement weather policy:
   Each coach determines whether practice is cancelled or not. Game day cancellations are determined by Upward Directors and posted at www.Upwardhanover.org and on the Upward hotline 746-8974, option 3 early Saturday morning.
    
8. Refund policy:
   A full refund is allowed if the uniform order has not been placed. After that date, March 2, the uniform cost will be deducted and the remainder of the registration fees refunded.
    
9. Multi-Child Family Discount plan:
   Registration for 2 or more children in the same family playing upward soccer is $75.00 per child. Enter “Family” in the promotional code during the registration process.

Upward Soccer 2008 Re-cap:

• The 2008 Upward Soccer season ended May 31, 2008. A big THANK YOU to all directors, coaches, referees, concession workers, field maintenance workers, parents and anyone else who helped make this season GREAT!
   
• End-of-Season Celebration was May 31st.
  Upward Soccer players and parents enjoyed two shows by Dana Tison, “outrageous comedy juggler”, along with clowns, balloon artists and face painters. In addition, each player, coach and volunteer received a voucher for a free hot dog and drink at the concession stand.  Players also received their end-of-season awards from their coaches.
