Opportunities - Discipleship Ministries

Shown below are ongoing opportunities of service within the Discipleship Ministry.

  • Go to Immediate Opportunities of Service for the most urgent needs in the Discipleship Ministry.

  • Click here for more information about the Discipleship Ministry.

  • Discipleship Development - This discipleship Team directs the Leadership and Discipleship Training for adults.  Discipleship ministry develops, organizes and directs training and education ministries to support the spiritual and numerical growth of the church.  The goal is to create and implement an effective discipleship ministry.  The team leaders direct the Leadership Training Group and Discipleship Development Group leaders.

  • Discipleship Development - Leadership Training - The Leadership Training Group develops a strategy to train leaders for the task of growing disciples.  They direct a leadership training ministry tailored to the current needs of the Church, work with other ministries to provide coordinated training and direct the Ministry Orientation and Training Workshop for new leaders.

  • Discipleship Development - Church Communications Network - The Church Communications Network (CCN) group assists the Leadership Training Group Leaders by offering telecast conferences at Cool Spring that will develop the leadership of the church.  They coordinate, develop, promote and implement a schedule of conferences for leadership to choose from for personal enrichment.  They also work with the Technology Team to maintain equipment and schedule technicians and maintain contracts with CNN.

  • Discipleship Development - Discipleship Training - The Discipleship Training Group Leaders develop a strategy to provide short term courses of study that enable the individual to develop as a follower of Jesus Christ.  Three ministries help facilitate this process: Adult Discipleship, Women's Ministries, and Men's Ministries.  Short term courses are offered beginning in January, April, and September of each year.

  • Discipleship Development - Adult Discipleship - The Adult Discipleship Ministry is responsible for coordinating discipleship courses for adults in every aspect of the Christian life.  This requires communication with the seven church Ministry Teams to determine which courses will be offered for each Discipleship Term (Fall, Winter, Spring) in order to develop fully committed followers of Jesus Christ.  This group complies a brochure for each term promoting courses primarily through "Back to Bible Study" events.

  • Discipleship Development - Women's Ministries - The Heart to Heart women's ministry helps women become fully committed followers of Jesus Christ throught small group Bible studies, prayer, and fellowship.  They sponsor special events such as retreats, seminars, and conferences throughout the year.

  • Discipleship Development - Men's Ministries - The Promise Keepers and Shoulder to Shoulder men's ministries are responsible for the nurturing and development of relationships between men and with God. The men's leadership teams develop and train small group facilitators and offer courses to develop en into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ in accordance with the Discipleship Development calendar.

  • Discipleship Development - Member Development - The purpose of the Member Development Ministry is to build the true believer's foundation of faith.  In order to accomplish this task, we follow the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  Current Member Development classes include: "Living a Life of Worship," "The Cost of Being a Disciple," and "Prayer and Knowing the God You Pray to."  The passion to teach God's Word and to make disciples of all believers is the driving force behind the Member Development Ministry.  It is our desire to have every Cool Spring member participate in theses classes.

  • Children's Ministries -From birth through kindergarten, children are introduced to the Christian faith through age specific hands-on activities and learning experiences.  For elementary age children, the church is of major importance in providing positive opportunities to learn of Jesus Christ, to study His Word, and to come to a personal knowledge of His redeeming love.  Through caring Christian teachers, our children participate in Bible Study, missions, and music groups, Vacation Bible School, fellowships, discipleship groups, and other activities throughout the year.  Each of these activities provide a foundation of Christian beliefs which will last a life time.

  • Student Ministries - Youth are brought to a better understanding of God through many different experiences.  Bible study is provided for all grade levels on Sunday morning.  IMPACT on Sunday nights is a discipleship time for those committed to growing stronger in their relationship with Christ.  A typical night will include large group worship and dramas, and small group studies on deepening their faith.  ECHO on Sunday nights is a time for the your choir and creative ministry teams to work on drama and music.  S.N.A.C. (Sunday Nights After Church) is a time of fast food fellowship for the your.  Transportation to and from a restaurant is provided in church vans.  FOCUS is a Wednesday evening program designed to have the group meet together for Bible Study and fellowship.  This is a topical, interactive night that is fun as well as life-changing.  We mix games, drama, video, discussion and more for something different and exciting each week.  This is a great opportunity to bring friends as we focus on issues that youth are dealing with each day!  A monthly newsletter called "The Standard" keeps teens informed of other activities including mission trips and retreats.

  • Adult Ministries - Adult Ministries guide the development and organization of ongoing Bible study for adults.  Adult Bible Study is organized to facilitate the spiritual and numerical growth of Sunday and week day Bible study.  Adult Bible Study is divided into department and classes with similar interest (family needs).  Each department provides a diversity of approved curriculum (teaching styles an literature) to meet the diverse learning needs of the members.  In addition to Adult Bible Study, Adult Ministries provide for ongoing Small Group Bible Study needs in the church.

  • Resource Ministries - The Resource Ministries Team guides the development and organization for the Library and Book Store.  The Team Leaders work with the Group Leaders to accomplish their assigned tasks.  The Library is responsible for the promotion, purchase, care, custody, and lending of books for the church.  The Book Store is responsible for the promotion, purchase and sale of books for the church.
