Hola Amigos!
I arrived in Quito, Ecuador at 11 p.m. (12 midnight
your time) on Friday evening, and Ruby and Fletcher were at the airport to
pick up me and Justin. We got to the guest house in Quito around midnight,
and we were the last two of the team to arrive. Our leadership team interns
this summer are me, Justin, Erika, Leah, Stacey, Theresa and Matt (who will
join us in July), and the missionaries we are working with are Debbie and
David, and Ruby and Fletcher.
Everyone is so awesome, and I know God put this team
together! The whole gang traveled the three hours to Ambato this afternoon
(Saturday June 3) by bus and we got settled in our hotel around 3 in the
afternoon. Debbie and Ruby are taking me and the girls to look for an
apartment in the morning, so please pray that we will find one (preferably
already furnished) that is still within walking distance of Debbie and
David's and Ruby and Fletcher's houses. It is absolutely wonderful here, I
feel so at home and I wouldn't want to be any other place this summer!
This coming week is going to be a crazy one, because we
are preparing for our first group of International World Changers (they send
teams of high schoolers and their youth leaders to us for a week at a
time)--this coming group will arrive Saturday June 10th, and it is our
largest group of the summer--90 people!
Please pray that preparations go well this week as we
ready our leadership team for this amazing start to our summer. Thank you so
much for your prayers, and I will update you all in about a week!
Jamie
