Prayer Email #1
Sent Before Her Trip
Hello Everyone!
I am very excited to be sending this first e-mail out to all of you! I have been praying over the past few months, as I have been gathering prayer support, that God would send me the specific prayer partners that He intended to join me in prayer during the next two years.
I strongly believe that is how each of you have made it onto this list!
Tomorrow afternoon I head out to the Missionary Learning Center in Rockville, VA for six weeks of orientation. I will then have two weeks back at home during Christmas before heading off to Grahamstown, South Africa around the beginning of January.
I am excited about the next six weeks, as I will be learning a lot about cross-cultural ministry, some more about my specific job, and whatever else I need in preparation for the next two years.
Here are some specific prayer requests for the next few weeks:
- That the Lord will calm my nerves and give me a continued sense of peace about the job that He has called me to.
- That I will be able to focus on what we are learning at the MLC, and really take in everything.
- That I will be able to successfully work out everything with my travel itinerary and visa during the next few weeks.
- MOST IMPORTANTLY--that I will remain open and sensitive to what the Lord is teaching me every day!!
Thank you again for your willingness to pray for me and for what God is doing and going to do among the Xhosa people of South Africa! Your prayers really do mean so much!
In Christ's Love,
Heather
