Hanover
Juvenile Correction Center
After 30-40 years of
Ministry at Barrett Learning Center (closed in March of 2005), a new
Ministry has being developed at Hanover Juvenile Correction Center.
Members from Cool Spring regularly ministered to juveniles at Barrett
Learning Center, through weekly Bible Study. A similar weekly Bible
Study is now being offered HJCC. These boys will be between the ages
of 12 and 20 1/2.
As the Bible studies are developed for the young men at
HJCC, volunteers are needed. This includes pairs of people (one man,
and one woman) who would consistently be able to serve once a month
(knowing that occasionally substitutes would need to be made for
travel, sickness, etc...,) Substitutes and people willing to serve
every two months or once a quarter are also needed.
Those of us who have served on a once a month basis
have seen what the consistency means to the boys, but they also enjoy
and welcome new faces. The curriculum we will choose will be easy for
volunteers to share, and will not require much if any preparation. We
are actively seeking a video supplement to whatever is chosen.
