Adult Ministry at Cool Spring
- The Adult Ministry: Cool Spring's ministry for adults
involves the development of our personal relationship with Christ
through:
- Regular Worship
- Regular Bible study
- Christian fellowship
- Involvement in Service to the church and Stewardship
- Discovery and application of our spiritual gifts
-
- Worship: Opportunities for Worship are available every Sunday
morning at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:15. The 8:30 and 10:00 Worship Services
are more
contemporary services, with a praise band leading the worship. The
11:15 Worship Service is a blended service, with a choir. However, there
is overlap between the two worship styles, and while the 11:15 service is more
traditional, it is still informal.
There are also frequent worship and praise events throughout the
year, including Christmas musicals, Christmas Eve Services, and Easter
musicals. Childcare and a nursery are routinely available for young
children during special performances, thus facilitating the ability
for adults with children to attend.
- Bible Study: There are two times available for Bible study on
Sunday mornings for church members and visitors, 8:30 and 10:00. There is a class for everyone, and visitors are encouraged
to explore different classes to find the one best for them. Most
classes have frequent social events for fellowship.
The classes available are listed on
the Adult Sunday Bible Study Page. New classes are often added as well.
"Discipleship Development" Classes
are held throughout the year, often seasonally. These are more focused
studies on a particular theme or aspect of the Bible in application to
our lives. These often meet on Sundays or Wednesdays.
- Christian Fellowship: Cool Spring has frequent
church wide
activities, such as picnics, game nights, and other social events to
facilitate fellowship. Sunday School classes often have a regular
social schedule as well. In addition, there are groups in which
fellowship is a major part of their missions, such as Promise Keepers
for men, WMU for women, and prayer groups.
Go to Opportunities for Fellowship
for more examples of past activities.-
- Service and Stewardship: God wants us to be active and
involved in our church. Through service to the church and community
(missions) we strengthen our relationship with Christ and further
the Word of God. There are many opportunities for service at Cool
Spring, both in regularly scheduled activities as well as special
events. Different groups at Cool Spring help minister to different
locally, such as at Essex Village and at the Hanover Juvenile
Correction Center. Members at Cool Spring have participated in Habitat
for Humanity Construction locally as well as church building in
third world countries. For examples of some service opportunities
within the church, see the
Volunteer Opportunities Page.
-
- Spiritual Gifts: Many individuals would like to be active in
the church, but do not know where they fit in, or what is available
for them to do. The Bible states that we all have at least one
Spiritual Gift, that when combined with our own natural talents, can
provide service to the church. Cool Spring has a Spiritual Gifts
Assessment that can help determine our Spiritual Gifts, as well as
councilors to help us to find out our Gifts can be applied. More
information about Spiritual Gifts is on the
Spiritual Gifts Page
