The Worship Assistance Ministry

The Worship Assistance Ministry is involved in the activities that support the worship services.  This ministry includes many behind-the-scene activities that are vital to effective functioning of the worship services.  Ultimately this glorifies our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and enables us to focus on Him during worship service.

Different ministries within the Worship Assistance Ministry include:

  • Ushers and greeters

  • Worship Center and Sanctuary preparation

  • Church ordinances, such as the Lord's Supper and Baptism

  • Audio / Visual

There are many opportunities of service in the Worship Assistance Ministry.  Click here to see an updated listing.

Worship Preparation - This involves preparing the Sanctuary and Worship Center for worship each Sunday morning. This includes meeting the material needs of the Worship Service, decorating the Sanctuary and Worship Center, and ensuring that the pews have adequate guest cards, pencils, etc. Worship Preparation is an excellent behind-the-scenes service to the church.

The Chair Team Ministry - The Chair Team Ministry sets up and takes down the chairs in the Worship Center every Sunday morning, and for special events.  Participants serve on a rotating schedule throughout the year.

Audio-Visual Ministry - The Audio-Visual Ministry is involved with supporting the participants of each Worship Service with Audio-Visual needs. This includes managing the sound system at Cool Spring in the Worship Center and Sanctuary, as well as running the Power Point presentation of song lyrics for the congregation to follow during group singing.

The Lord's Supper - The Lord's Supper, or Communion, is usually given on the first Sunday of each month, during the 8:30, 10:00 and 11:15 Worship Services. In December, it is given during the Christmas Eve Services. The Lord's Supper is given in remembrance of Him, in that Jesus Christ died for us so that that our sins would be forgiven, and we would be given eternal life.

The Lord's Supper ministry consists usually of several couples or families throughout the year who volunteer to prepare and set up the juice trays and bread plates for each service for a series of months. The actual passing of the trays and plates is done by the deacons during each Worship Service. The ministry also maintains the trays and plates themselves, and purchases supplies as needed. Participating in the Lord's Supper preparation is a truly rewarding behind-the-scenes service to the church that is not fully appreciated until you do it.

Beautification Ministry Team - This creative design team is responsible for decorating the two worship centers as well as other receiving areas of the Cool Spring facility.  They give us a festive taste of God's creative nature through the use of colors, flowers, plants and other special ornamentations at various times throughout the year.

Baptismal Ministry - The Baptismal Team assists Senior Pastor Larry Frakes in preparing for the Ordinance of Baptism, and in preparing the candidate for Baptism.

Greeters and Ushers - Are you a “people person?” Friendly people greet and assist guests on Sunday mornings at various locations around the church.  The Ushers Worship Ministry distributes bulletins, takes up the offering during worship service, and assists the Worship Leader as requested.
