American Family Association
- The American Family Association home page discusses current social
issues pertinent to Christians, and includes the ability to send an
Email to your legislator based on your zip code. "The American
Family Association represents and stands for traditional family
values, focusing primarily on the influence of television and other
media – including pornography – on our society." Email
newsletter alerts are also available. Also, TV viewers have
a quick and easy way to file a complaint with the FCC concerning
obscene, indecent, and profane content on television. Simply
navigate to the
Television Indecency Page of the American Family Website and
file your complaint. There is no charge to do this, and filing your complaint takes only a few minutes
One Million Moms and
One Million Dads are projects of the American Family Association.
One Million Moms, for example, is "an online community of mothers
aimed at stopping the exploitation of our children, especially by the
entertainment media (TV, music, movies, etc.)." At both sites,
current problem situations can be reviewed, and an Email can be sent
directly from the site that voices your concern about the issue.
Citizen Link Page of the Focus on
the Family Website (family.org) - This page posts current
family issues in policy and culture. Be sure to check out the
Legislative Action Center, where you can access your elected
representatives (via Email) by entering your zip code, and you can
also review current legislation and voting records
