Frequently Asked Questions
What are we being led to do?
The leadership of Cool Spring
Baptist Church has been led to do four things. The church will be
adding a new Children’s Building, enlarging and remodeling space for
our Middle School, High School and College-aged students, re-working
space for adult classes and reducing the existing debt.
When will
these projects begin?
The design work for the building
projects is currently being
finished. Work should begin on the expanded areas for the Middle
School, High School and College-aged students in January, 2008.
Ground-breaking for the Children’s Building should begin in the late
summer or early fall of 2008. The work on renovated areas for adult
classes will begin once the Children’s Building has been completed.
Reduction of existing church debt has been ongoing and will continue
through the building phases mentioned above.
Why are we
using an outside stewardship consulting firm? Who are they?
We have contracted with an
outside firm in order to utilize
their expertise and proven track record. The Christ-centered
organization of INJOY Stewardship Services (ISS) provides a
comprehensive plan with proven results. In addition, their
reputation as a partner dedicated to keeping God first provides the
accountability required to meet the ambitious goals of this
campaign. To learn more about ISS, call one of the campaign
directors or visit the ISS website at
www.injoystewardship.com.
How will the
church body be kept informed of developments?
We will receive updates from the
pulpit, the Courier, church website, bulletins, brochures and
newsletters.
What will
the new building and the renovations to existing structures cost?
It is estimated that the total
cost for the building projects will be between $4 -$5 million. The
balance of existing debt is approximately $2.8 million, so the total
for “Growing Together – Building in Faith” will be between $7 - $8
million (as of August, 2007).
