Cool Spring Travelers Gettysburg Tour
Friday and Saturday, May 14-15
Gettysburg - The High Water Mark
Imagine yourself in the midst of 165,000 soldiers on a hot July day
in 1863. Stand where General Lee stood as he watched 15,000 of his
men march across a mile-wide field towards the center of the Union
line on Cemetery Ridge. Imagine the largest battle ever fought on
this continent, and its 51,000 casualties.
The Cool Spring Travelers toured the Gettysburg National Cemetery
where Abraham Lincoln gave the famed Gettysburg Address. They
also saw the 42 feet high, 377 feet around Cyclorama of the Battle,
and the introductory film, A New Birth of Freedom, at the Gettysburg
National Military Park Visitors Center.
