Cool Spring Travelers Ashland, Fork Church, and
Doswell Tour
Tuesday, March 23rd
9:00 am to 3:00 pm
We explored Church Quarter, a charming log cabin in western Hanover
built around 1843. Its recently restored brick orangery is one of
only two such dependencies still surviving in Hanover County. Our
next stop was historic Fork Church that dates back to 1722.
After experiencing the church's rich history, we were off to the Iron
Horse Restaurant in Ashland for lunch. After lunch, we'll head out
with our self-guided walking tour maps to explore Railroad Avenue
where you will find lovely old homes, fun shops and historic
buildings such as the Ashland Depot and the Henry Clay Inn.
