WEEK'S EMAILED COOL SPRING COURIER (11/22/2013 -
The Staff Transition Plan was affirmed at our Business Meeting earlier this month. Now the work begins! Our task is to complete the realignment by March 31, 2014. You'll notice efforts to cross-train and create moments for additional dialogue with leadership and various ministries and teams over the next several months. We also start the process to fill a couple of new positions created by the transition. If you have questions during the process, please ask. Our goal is to communicate as well and as effectively as possible about change. Please continue to pray for staff and leadership during the transition.
Christmas is almost here. Our Christmas series called Vantage Point begins Sunday, December 1.Vantage Point is about certain characters in the gospel narrative and their take and perspective on the coming of the Christ - Jesus' birth. How did Zechariah, Mary, the Shepherds and Simeon see Jesus' coming? How did it influence their understanding and relationship with God? We'll camp out in the first couple chapters of Luke for the series.
We finish the Monsters series this weekend. Our final monster is the Grudge Monster. As people look back on life regrets, you'll often hear someone say, "I wish I'd forgiven more." You find the Grudge Monster showing up periodically. Maybe it's a disagreement; maybe you've been wronged or injured; or maybe your feelings have been hurt. To be frank, life is too short to go around mad, angry and wading through unforgiveness. Don't let this monster get the best of you! We're going to look at how to defeat the Grudge Monster on Sunday. If you'd like to study ahead, our teaching text is Matthew 18:21-35.
Did you know this is one of the best times of the year to invite someone to church? It's the holidays - Thanksgiving and Christmas. There's something about this season that makes people seem most receptive to checking out church, but most importantly, investigating the truth of Christ. Is there someone in your office, neighborhood or family you might invite?
