School Supplies Needed

The Middle School Student Ministry is collecting Back to School Supplies for students who attend ESH Green Elementary School in the City of Richmond. Our students will deliver the supplies on September 2. Monetary donations and school supplies will gladly be accepted through Sunday, August 29. Please pick up a supply list from the Welcome Center or Church Office, purchase items from the list and return them to the Welcome Center or Church Office. Supplies may be delivered in plastic or paper bags. We ask that you list what items are included in your bag.

While you're out shopping for school supplies for your children, why not pick up some extra supplies to have on hand when you assemble your Operation Christmas Child shoebox this year? By doing this, you will bless a less fortunate child, as well as blessing your own.

C.A.R.I.T.A.S. NEEDS

In case you have not heard, we will be hosting CARITAS Single Adults (men and women) September 4 - September 11, 2010. Thanks to all of you who have already made a commitment to help with meals, snacks and staying overnight.

We have checked our supply of toiletry items and the bins are almost empty. If you could help us restock these supplies for our guests it would be a most generous act of kindness. We need the following items: shampoo, conditioner, tooth brushes, travel size toothpaste, dental floss, deodorant, disposable razors (for men & women), soap and/or body wash (for men & women) & body powder. Please bring your items and place them in the bins marked CARITAS located in the Welcome Center and Parlor. Thanks so much for helping others.

Marty Garber & Cindy Paxton, CARITAS Co-directors

Ushers Needed at the 10:00 Service

We're looking for individuals willing to help usher on a rotation basis during our 10:00 service. A friendly smile and a firm handshake are all that is required. If you're willing to assist us with simple tasks such as passing out bulletins, seating guests and receiving the morning offering, then we would be blessed to have you as part of our ushering team. If interested, contact Rudy Burgess at rbbmba@aol.com  or 550-7481.

Lord's Supper Team

The Worship Ministry is in need of additional persons who would be willing to assist with the preparation of the Lord's Supper on a rotating monthly basis. If you feel led to assist in this ministry, please contact John or Kathy Terpay at 569-1630.

Reception Desk Volunteers Needed

We Need Your Help!!!

A smile for a visitor, a cheerful greeting for a telephone caller and pleasant instructions for a delivery person- these are all very important duties of a Cool Spring volunteer week-day receptionist. Positive first impressions are critical in helping our church make a difference in the lives of those in our community. That's why receptionists are such important people!

Does this sound like a position for you? Our desire is to staff two people a day from 9:00 am-12:30pm OR 12:30-4:00 pm. We currently have six very capable, faithful volunteers but have four time slots not staffed. If you can't work every week, perhaps you can share with another person. If you have any questions or would like more information, please call Candace at 746-8970 Ext 3 or e-mail cnahodil@coolspring.org .

Greeters Needed

Friendly people are needed at various locations throughout the church to assist guests on Sunday mornings. Please call Peggy Hoover at 779-2086 for more information.

Special Needs Ministry - Bridge Builders

To be successful, Bridge Builders Ministry needs compassionate volunteers with a heart for special needs. There are many opportunities to serve the Lord through this Ministry. If God is leading you toward working with this ministry, please call Wendy Atkinson at 798-5278 for more information.

Friends of Bridge Builders

The Friends of Bridge Builders group is made up of parents, one-to-ones, teachers and anyone in the church family who is interested in or is already a part of this special needs ministry. The group was developed to support and encourage each other and to provide an open forum for discussion of needs, ideas and opportunities for maintaining and growing this ministry. For more information you may contact Pam Gontkovic (746-9021) or Laurie Friedl (427- 6839).

Bridge Builders provides assistance to children with special needs and to their families. Thank you to those of you who have faithfully served in the Bridge Builders Ministry for the past year with love and caring hearts
