Children of the World Concert June 1
World
Help presents, as part of its
2007-08 U.S. tour, Children of
the World. This choir,
comprised of orphaned and
disadvantaged children from several
different countries, will be
performing at Cool Spring Baptist
Church on June 1, at 6:30 PM in the
Worship Center. The concert is
free; a love offering will be taken.
Their high-energy and inspiring
program will feature several songs,
in both English and native dialects,
as well as stirring personal
testimonies. The children have
performed in such venues as Focus on
the Family, Brooklyn Tabernacle,
Crystal Cathedral and Disney World.
Children of the World represents
millions of innocent hurting
children who are suffering
needlessly as a result of the AIDS
pandemic in Africa. Their purpose is
to generate compassion and inspire
individuals to get involved in
helping over 15 million children who
have been orphaned and their lives
drastically impacted by AIDS. A
special video presentation will take
you into the heart of this crisis
and show you how to make a
difference.

Ministries Opportunities
Wyatt House Renovation
“The Wyatt House” is a home named
for Cool Spring missionaries, Roy
and Joyce Wyatt. The Missionary
Housing Team is renovating and furnishing it for
missionaries on stateside
assignment. We welcome you to be a
part of the process! There are
numerous repairs needed, as well as
donations of furnishings for the
home.
The Wyatt House Team has already
worked on landscaping, driveway, and
sidewalks. Thanks to the youth for
giving time during their Spring
Break! The youth worked on
the landscaping during the 30-Hours
of Famine. The next jobs will be
power washing the house, adding
shutters and painting the interior.
You are invited to help! Other
repairs and furnishings are needed. Contact Judy Brummett,
746-3488 or the Missions office,
746-8972 Ext. 1.

Cotton Fabric Needed
The Genesis Sunday School class
supplies machine sewn pillowcases
for the Polly Frank's Foundation.
The Foundation provides pillowcases
filled with coloring supplies and
stuffed animals for abused children
brought to MCV, St. Mary's and a
hospital in Fredericksburg. The
children range in age from toddlers
to 12. Fifty pillowcases at MCV
alone are given out each month. The
Genesis ladies meet once a month to
sew pillowcases to donate.
If anyone in the church has any 100
% cotton fabric they would like to
donate to this cause, please contact
Lyndi Wells (559-8533) or Patsi
Deans (559-7622). One yard will make
one standard size pillowcase. There
is a great need for fabric that can
be used for children 8 - 12 years of
age because they don't care for the
juvenile prints.
International Missions Ministry
There are funds available for these
trips which allow all individuals to
take advantage of these
opportunities. Please keep these
trips in your prayers as we reach
beyond our community in the name of
the Lord.

Spring Food Drive May 4 - 25
It's time again for our annual
Spring Food Drive to replenish
the shelves in the Food Pantry.
There continues to be heavy use
of the Food Pantry so we need to
restock in order to keep up with
these requests. As usual, we are
asking the Adult Sunday School
Classes to participate. Please
bring the items assigned to your
class during the month of May
and put them in the food cartons
located in the Welcome Center,

Your loving generosity is
appreciated and allows Cool
Spring to continue this
important ministry to our

to help prepare the elements for
communion throughout the year.
You would serve two or three
times a year based on your
availability. We would welcome
your consideration in getting
connected in service through
this avenue of ministry. Our
team leaders would be delighted
to talk with you further about
how you can be a part of this
exciting team ministry. Please

Reception Desk Volunteers
Needed
A
smile for a visitor, a cheerful
greeting for a telephone caller
and pleasant instructions for a
delivery person - these are all
very important duties of a Cool
Spring volunteer week-day
receptionist. Positive first
impressions are critical in
helping our church make a
difference in the lives of those
in our community. That's why our
receptionists are such important
people!
Does this sound like a position
for you? Our desire is to staff
two people a day - 9:00 am to
12:30 pm OR 12:30 to 4:00 pm. We
currently have eight very
capable, faithful volunteers and
three substitutes. If you can't
work every week, perhaps you can
share with another person.
A
volunteer for Wednesdays from
12:30 - 4:00 pm is our most
urgent need. For
more details, please call
Candace at 746-8970.
Greeters
Needed
Friendly
people are needed at various locations
throughout the church to assist
guests on Sunday mornings. Please
call Peggy Hoover at 779-2086 for
more information.

The Care Ministry
The
Weekly Prayer List is Available
Online
Remember to Pray for . . .
CARITAS Families
Pray for the families who spent
two weeks at Cool Spring to find
employment and housing. Pray
that as they leave us on
Saturday, they will have seen
Jesus in this place, in the love
and concern given to each of
them by leaders and volunteers.
Due
to the sensitive nature of prayer
requests, the list is only available
in the
Password
Protected area of the Cool Spring
Site. However, it is easy
to sign up for a password, just
go to
Password Pages and submit the
New Registration of Password Form.

Cool Spring Grief Support
Group
If you have lost a spouse,
child, family member or friend,
it may be hard for you to feel
optimistic about the future
right now. You've probably found
that there are not many people
who understand the deep hurt you
feel. That's the reason for
GriefShare, a special support
group for people grieving the
loss of someone close.
The next session, scheduled
for Sunday, May 18 at 5:00 pm,
is entitled "The Journey of
Grief" and will help us prepare
for some of the things we can
expect along the pathway of
grief. Remember that each
session is "self contained" and
you do not have to attend in
sequence. If you know others who
might benefit from the group,
please invite them to join us.
Please contact Jerry or Patsi
Deans at 559-7622 or
jerry.deans@comcast.net or
Darrell or Marsha Rettig at
746-2853 for more information.

Grief Share.
