General Updates (April 16, 2008):
Rec Minister
After receiving
25 résumés, we have stopped accepting new applications for
Rec Minister. The Search Team has narrowed the field to five
well qualified candidates. Most of these have been
interviewed by phone or in person, where possible, and have
returned questionnaires. The remaining candidate should
complete this process soon. The difficult task of further
narrowing the short list will follow. Please continue to
pray for the Search Team in this most important process.
Senior Pastor
The Team has been hard at work since officially starting the
search for a new Senior Pastor. As a foundation for our
search we've created and put in place a new Church Profile,
Desired Senior Pastor Traits, Job Posting and Guidelines for
the selection process. After these documents were
researched, discussed and created, the Team moved forward to
advertise the position with the Willow Creek Association,
the Minster Matching System of the Virginia Baptist Mission
Board and the Southern Baptist Convention. To date we have
received 15 matches on the VBMB site, 10 letters of interest
from the Willow Creek and 40 from the Southern Baptist
Convention. We are currently reviewing and evaluating all
the résumés and submitting a questionnaire to candidates of
interest that will give the Team an in- depth look at each
candidate's qualifications, doctrine and compatibility. The
above mentioned documents will soon be posted to our church
website (coolspring.org) and copies will be available at the
Welcome Center. The most important thing that you, the body
of Christ here at Cool Spring, can do is pray that the team
will secure God's man for this church. Please contact team
members with any possible candidates.
